2022 was an incredibly rewarding & eventful year for us! It was full of growth and challenges on so many levels. We opened a new location, unveiled a new logo and so much more. Here are some highlights from 2022:
Mobile Pay for Faster Service!
Gringo’s and Jimmy Changas introduced Mobile Pay for guests to be able to pay at their convenience from their mobile phones. No better way to get in, enjoy some delicious Tex-Mex, and head out when you’re ready.
Taste of Sangria Features
The Spring brought us new & refreshing sangrias. A Red Sangria made with pineapple juice & a hint of Hennessy, while the White Sangria was mixed with a peach schnapps for a touch of sweetness. Maybe a 2023 comeback??
Unveiled New Gringo’s Logo
TADA! On May 25th, Gringo’s refreshed their iconic logo. The new look allows us to finally trademark the Gringo’s brand and avoid others from using the same, most replicated “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
Introduced Pastor Bowl
Who doesn’t love a good Tex-Mex bowl — marinated pastor, cilantro lime rice, black beans, pineapple, avocado & pickled red onions drizzled with chipotle crema. It will definitely be seen again…
New Location in College Station
In July, Gringo’s opened their fifteenth restaurant and very first location outside of the Houston market out in AggieLand (College Station), where they were welcomed by the whole community with open arms.
TAMU Partnership | Murals
In addition to our exciting opening of the College Station location, we became Official Partners of Texas A&M Athletics™. Be sure to visit and take photos in front of our murals and tag us @gringostexmex. It was voted as one of the best picture-perfect murals in College Station!
$15,000 in Scholarships Awarded
Our Tex-Mex Legacy Foundation recognized 10 individuals with $1,500 scholarships to begin their college careers. These young adults have such a great work ethic, and we were honored to be able to give back to them as they take on this next chapter in their lives.
Assisting Pearland Little League | #RoadtoWorldSeries
Gringo’s “The Original” and Gringo’s Shadow Creek — hosted a benefit, donating 100% of restaurant sales & raised $40,000 to support the Pearland Little League Team as they advanced to the Little League World Series.
Chicken Diablo – Call it a Comeback
A guest favorite, and most requested, came back for the Holidays – made from scratch, marinate & tenderize fresh chicken breasts – stuff & roll with Mexican Panela cheese, fresh jalapeño, and wrapped in bacon! Grilled to perfection, paired with veggies & garnished with a jalapeño toreado.
Camp Hope | PTSD of America
Our company goal to raise $1M for our Veterans and friends at Camp Hope is getting closer!! As we near the end of 2022, together, we have raised over $940k for Camp Hope since we introduced the Plato Soldado. Thank you!
We Astros!
Congratulations to our beloved Houston Astros on their World Series WIN! Us, and many Houstonians, celebrated with a lot of Margaritas!
