What a fun year 2021 was for us! It was a year full of growth and success on many levels. We announced two new locations, promoted three new GM’s from within, and even had a milestone birthday to celebrate! Here are our Top 10 for 2021:
1. College Station Announced
Aggie Land, here we come! Gringo’s College Station was announced and we’ll be opening in the Spring of 2022. This is our first Gringo’s out of the Houston market and we couldn’t be more excited!
2. Birria Tacos
In March, we introduced Birria Quesatacos. Chuck roast beef cooked and marinated in our birria au jus – served with Birria Hot Sauce and side of Au Jus for dipping. They were a HIT!
3. Launched Online Ordering
Get Gringo’s to-go! Where you can order your favorite tex-mex, ritas to-go, and Insiders can earn and redeem at the click of a button. With our very own Online Ordering platform, you can schedule a pick-up curbside or get it delivered.
4. PTSD Awareness Campaign
For the entire month of June, we ran a campaign for PTSD Awareness Month in order to help benefit and contribute to our friends at Camp Hope. Through this campaign and Every Queso Counts, you helped us raise $81,455 for Camp Hope.
5. Guest Favorites – For A Limited Time
We said “hello” and “good-bye” to some of our guest favorites throughout the year: Shrimp Empanadas, Cozumel Salad, El Dorado, Seafood Chile Relleno & Pastor Tacos. Who knows, maybe they will make another appearance in 2022! *Pictured: The Cozumel Salad*
6. Tex-Mex Legacy Foundation Scholarships
Our Tex-Mex Legacy Foundation awarded seven scholarships to some of our Team Members for the 2021 Fall Semester. These individuals each bring such a great work ethic to our company everyday, and we were honored to be able to give back to them as they take on this next chapter in their lives.
7. Acquired (5) Franchise Units
In October, Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen acquired long-time franchisee and friend, Joel Perkins five (5) Gringo’s Locations: Fuqua, Spring, Champions, Cypress, and The Woodlands.
